The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi has commiserated with the Olobu of Ilobu HRM Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan, the Lagbaja family of Ilobu, the Ilobu descendants Union, the entire people of Irepodun Local Government, and Osun state at large over the sudden demise of the Chief of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner, Alimi expressed pain on the exit of the Army General, who he said left when he is needed in the service of this great country Nigeria, this is a collosal loss to the nation, the Nigerian Military and a big loss to the Olobu of Ilobu, the Lagbaja family of Ilobu, the people of Irepodun Local Government, the Osun state government and Nigeria as a whole.

The statement described General Taoreed Lagbaja as a security enigma during his lifetime, and “we hope his exit won’t leave vacuum because of his dexterity used to combat crime and vices, in his service to Nigeria.”

The statement added that the significant contribution of the late General to security issues and his community development is recognised, and he has made history with his explicit acumen of security management and service delivery, which can never be forgotten.

At this trying period, we offer words of comfort, to Olobu of Ilobu, his immediate family, Ilobu Descendants Union and others, that God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“May God grant the late security giant, Aljanna Firdaus Ameen, – the statement concluded.”
