Community Improvement Team Monitoring and Supervision Visits to Ikot Umiang Ede, Etinan LGA

Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI with the aim of reviewing progress, addressing challenges, and providing support to the Community Improvement Team (CIT) visited its beneficiary communities in Ikot Umiang Ede, Etinan local governments area of Akwa Ibom state.

 

The visit facilitated by Daniel Williams, HFDI Community Mobilization Officer (CMO) in collaboration with the community CMOs was to monitor and supervise the activities of the Community Improvement Team (CIT).

 

The CIT Chairman, Hon. Israel R. Etukudo, expressed appreciation to HFDI for creating a structure that has facilitated community development.

 

He highlighted various improvements the team has achieved to include:

– Supporting 25 vulnerable children with birth certificates

– Facilitating the activation of the School-Based Management Committee

– Re-enrolling 4 children back to school

– Providing school materials for children

– Revamping the community borehole water

– Creating a WhatsApp group for sons and daughters in the diaspora to support community development

– Facilitating a mini solar grid station for electricity generation

 

The Chairman also acknowledged the Executive Director’s efforts in bringing a project to the community as a means of income generation and women empowerment.

 

The CMO commended the team’s efforts and reminded them that CIT is a platform for facilitating development, particularly for the children. He encouraged the team to engage new members, document achievements, and hold regular meetings to update the WhatsApp group, which can serve as a resource mobilization tool.

 

The community of Ikot Umiang Ede CIT was identified as one of the most active and existing community structures of the organization. The team will continue to facilitate community development projects, focusing on children’s welfare and sustainable development.
