For his efficiency and productivity since being appointed as one of the members of Osun state Executive Council, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi has emerged as the Osun Best Commissioner of the year, 2023.
The confernment of the award on Oluomo Alimi was sequel to an award ceremony organised by Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA).
The nomination which was by voting done online by Osun residents featured other categories of awards which took place at Ben-Ber Hall, Mallam Tope area in Osogbo.
In his acceptance speech, Alimi, commended the Online Publishers for being objective in their reportage, over the years.
The Osun Information Commissioner who was emphatic on the need for constructive criticisms especially on government policies, programmes and activities to be played up at the expense of destructive ones, stated that, leaders at the helm of affairs should always be accorded benefits of doubts instead of bringing them and their activities down through unwarranted and baseless criticism.
Speaking on Osun state in relation to the Ademola Adeleke led administration, Oluomo maintained that, the present administration is one that hinges its activities on openness and transparency, thereby giving room for people to either commend or criticise as long as it is for the growth and development of the state and its people.
He frowned at all those who on a daily basis bent on pulling the administration down, despite the series of achievements it has recorded in the last one year.
Oluomo Kolapo Alimi , who congratulated the people of Osun state for having a selfless Governor like Senator Adeleke, also enjoined people of the state to continue to have faith in him and his leadership desire to put in place a modern and well developed Osun of everybody’s dream.
Alimi, reassured that, in just few months from now, the people of Osun will witness massive transformation, which, according to him, has commenced with the on going billion naira projects in the state.
On solidarity with the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi to receive the OOPA award of the best commissioner of the year in Osun state were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Hon. Eniola Odeniyi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mrs Modupeola Irelewuyi and the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Mr Moshood Suleiman, among others.
