The Joint Labour Movement in Osun State comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and Joint Negotiation Council (JNC), salutes all affiliated members for their resilience and commitment towards the directive to mobilise for an industrial action of a peaceful picketing of branches of United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Osogbo, Osun State starting from Tuesday, 24th March, 2026 arising from the State Administrative Council (SAC) and State Executive Council (SEC) of the Joint Labour Movement meeting, held on Tuesday 17th March, 2026, at the Labour House, Osogbo.

After much deliberations, in a meeting with the Organised Labour and representatives of UBA
mediated by the Department of State Services (DSS), Osun State Command, the following
resolutions were reached:

i. that the planned UBA picketing of Tuesday, 24th March, 2026 be suspended;

ii. that there must be a joint meeting between the Joint Labour Movement and UBA
representatives;

iii. that both parties agreed to have a robust discussion on how to resolve the issue of
Local Government funds within one (1) week starting from 23rd to 30th March, 2026.

Having agreed on the above resolutions with a good heart of faith, we hereby suspend the
planned picketing of branches of UBA in Osogbo, Osun State for a week, starting from 23rd to 30th March, 2026.

The Joint Labour Movement affirms its unwavering commitment to the defence of democracy, economic justice, and social progress as we have always proven that when the union’s inspiration runs through the workers’ blood, there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun, for the union makes us strong.

The struggle continues — peacefully, lawfully, intelligently, and firmly.

Please accept the assurances of our highest regards.

Fraternally yours,
