Army Troops Nab Two Suspected Kidnappers In Taraba

Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested two suspected kidnappers in Karim Lamido Local Government area of Taraba State.

 

The Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations for 6 Brigade, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, confirmed the development in a statement.

 

He said the suspects, identified as Ibrahim Umaru and Adamu Malam Musa, were apprehended on September 19, 2025 during a raid in the Garau axis of Rafin Taba community, following credible intelligence.

 

Preliminary investigation showed the suspects had been involved in several kidnappings where ransoms were collected. They also admitted to moving abductees into Plateau State, particularly the notorious Madam Forest, to evade security surveillance.

Commander of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their swift action, stressing the Brigade’s resolve to dismantle criminal networks in Taraba and restore peace.

 

The Army called on residents to support ongoing operations with timely information and warned criminal elements to desist or face decisive action.
