Governor Adeleke Bags New Honours, Decorated as Patron of FRSC Special Marshals, Pioneer Patron of Forensic Guards Nigeria
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been decorated as Grand Patron of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Marshals in Osun State and also as the Pioneer Patron of Forensic Guards Nigeria and Forensic Ambassadors Africa.
The twin investitures were held at the Government House Banquet Hall, Osogbo, on Thursday.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Adeleke described the recognition as both an honour and a call to service.
“Road safety is not just a policy matter but a human imperative. Behind every accident lies a family in grief and a community in pain,” he said.
“As a Governor, I have witnessed these losses, and I am committed to supporting the Federal Road Safety Corps and all stakeholders to reduce preventable deaths and injuries.”
The Governor commended the courage and sacrifice of officers and Special Marshals who, according to him, put their lives on the line daily to rescue victims and maintain order on Nigerian roads.
“Your service is noble and deeply valued,” he declared. He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving road networks, strengthening transport regulation, and partnering with security and emergency agencies.
“As a Patron, I embrace the responsibilities of promoting road safety values, supporting enforcement, and encouraging behavioural change among our people,” Adeleke stressed.
“On behalf of the government and people of Osun State, I thank the Corps Marshal and the FRSC leadership for this honour, and I pledge to justify your confidence through partnership, advocacy, and actions.”
The Osun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, lauded the Governor’s commitment to road safety reforms and infrastructure development.
He said the choice of Adeleke as Patron of the Special Marshals was informed by his visible dedication to protecting lives and enhancing road safety across the state.
Adegboyega noted that road crashes remain a major public health challenge but expressed optimism that with Governor Adeleke’s leadership, Osun would continue to witness a downward trend in accident rates.
He pledged the full cooperation of the FRSC to align with the state government’s vision of safer roads and stronger communities.
“We see in His Excellency a leader who not only understands the value of safety but actively prioritises it,” the Sector Commander said.
“The FRSC family in Osun State is confident that this new partnership will inspire better road use behaviour among citizens.”
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of Forensic Guards Nigeria and Forensic Ambassadors Africa, Ambassador Abraham Kwaghfan, described Governor Adeleke as a trailblazer and commended his strides in education, security, and youth empowerment.
He noted that the Governor’s investiture as the first Patron of both organisations was a testament to his visionary leadership.
Amb. Kwaghfan explained that Forensic Guards Nigeria and Forensic Ambassadors Africa are committed to promoting forensic science in governance, security, and justice delivery.
He said Governor Adeleke’s patronage would provide a strong institutional backbone to their advocacy and community interventions.
“By honouring you today, we are also charging you to continue being a voice for safer societies and credible systems,” Kwaghfan said.
“We are confident that under your guidance, the ideals of forensic science will further contribute to security, transparency, and justice in Nigeria”,he said.
