Ifon/Ilobu/Erin-Osun Communities in Ifon Orolu and Ifelodun local governments has been tasked on ensuring continuous support of the peace committee till the release of findings.

 

The communities who are facing curfew imposed by the government, because of land disputes were also applauded by the Peace Committee for embracing peace and maintaining law and order, put in place by Osun state government.

 

The announcement of the peace committee report which was described, as almost ready was made by the Co-Chairman of the Committee, Comrade Waheed Lawal during Stewardship (Ise Iriju Wa) , a radio network program showcasing the activities of the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state.

 

Speaking on state of the communities, the committees findings and support of the traditional rulers, leaders and members of the communities, Comrade Waheed Lawal, said the assignment of the peace committee chaired by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Larooye 1, was huge and needs due process to be fulfilled.

 

Adding that the report of the committee will bring lasting solution to the land disputes, he added that all the communities cooperated with the committee, and they showed readiness to end permanently, any land dispute brouhaha.

 

Comrade Waheed Lawal added that aside the meetings and visitation of the community sites, members of the community were urged to write the committee about their concerns, while he added that all complaints, and suggestions, were handled to enhance the peace of the communities.

 

He also announced that Governor Ademola Adeleke has visited the site, sympathised with the people, and gave directives for an Internally displaced persons, IDP camp to be set up in the area.

 

Applauding Osun government for putting the security of lives and properties at forefront of his policy, he added that the Oba Jimoh Olanipekun led Peace Committee will not relent in his delivery of the findings as outlined in the objectives of the committee.

 

Security operatives stationed at the communities were also applauded for maintaining law and order and discharging their duties appropriately.
