Three Governors Witnesses Inauguration Of Elected Osun Council Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Residents Appreciated

The Chairman, People’s Democratic Governors Forum, Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, Gov Engr Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, and Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke were the star guests at the Inauguration of the newly elected local government chairmen and vice chairman in Osun state on Sunday afternoon.

 

The swearing in ceremony, which came at the wake of the election which ushered them into office a day before, held at the banquet hall of the Government House in Osogbo, was graced by dignitaries such as Osun First Lady Chief Mrs Titilola Adeleke, former Governor of Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Lasun Yusuf, Osun PDP Senators and Representatives from the National Assembly, party Chairman, Deputy Governor Kola Adewusi, and party leaders to mention a few.

 

In his address, the Executive Governor of Osun, Senator Dr Ademola Adeleke expressed gratitude to the good people of Osun for steadfast support to his administration. “Your demonstration of courage and passion to exercise voting rights and massively supporting our party despite all the constraints is laudable, we will not fail you, and people’s welfare will continue to be our watchword.”

Governor Adeleke commended Osun State Independent Electoral Commission OSSIEC for discharging its mandate professionally and with all sense of responsibilities, he also commend security agencies and state officials who made the election a reality.

 

He expressed his gratitude with acknowledgement to Mr President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for rejecting efforts by some forces to plunge Osun into chaos. “I assure Mr President of our commitment to the rule of law and the constitution for conflict resolution and governance process.”

Osun Governor urged the councilors to stay away from the council secretariats to avoid any clash with illegal APC members, and asked all to rise for a minute of silence for victims of illegal APC take over of local government secretariats, he pray the souls of the victims rest in perfect peace.

 

While charging the political office holders at the local government level to discharge their duty in the development of the grassroots, he added that the wish of the people must not be disappointed, saying they are to follow the development agenda of his government so that the people at the grassroots can enjoy the dividend of democracy.

 

In his goodwill, the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde advised the Chairmen and Vice Chairmen to fulfill the promises they made for the people at the grassroots during their campaigns and build on the development agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

 

He cautioned politicians from turning the South west to wild west and admonished all not to resort to self help.

 

Speaking on behalf of the other Chairmen in his vote of thanks, the Chairman, Ifelodun local government, Mr. Sarafadeen Awotunde promised that the chairmen would build on the foundation developmental infrastructure agenda of the Governor at the grassroots.
