GC-7 Malaria Eradication: Osun ACOMIN Reiterates Commitment To Result Base Delivery 

Osun State implementing partners of Accountability of Civil Society on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition, ACOMIN, has reiterated its commitment to having a result base delivery in its malaria eradication program for the state.

 

The ACOMIN GC-7 which is focused on communities involvement and support of eradicating malaria thanked the various communities in Osun state that has contributed to providing the health facility with needed support and medical necessity.

 

This was disclosed by Osun ACOMIN Chairman, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele who charged the Community Based Organizations CBOs involved in the implementation program to judiciously work on stakeholders in their various communities, towards providing an enabling and active primary health care centers for the people.

 

According to Aremu, the thematic areas of the ACOMIN GC-7 now include malaria eradication/prevention, HIV and Tuberculosis tracking, and he said collaboration with state government officials must be cordial, in favor of providing access to health care to the people.

He encouraged the program officers of the CBOs to ensure report their activities, engage their target communities, identify challenges and proffer solution as necessary.

 

The CBOs at the well attended Monthly Coordination Meeting for the month of May, listed their success story as: donation of generator by a community stakeholder, provision of paracetamol, surgical gloves, weight scale, anti-malaria drugs, availability of water, purchase of lamp holders, improvement im baseline data, focus group discussions with stakeholders and employments of security guards for night duties at some of the health facilities among others.

 

The State Program Officer, SPO Segun David Amoto, informed the CBOs on the need to be detailed in the report, he added that the scope of implementing CBOs has increased from 15 to 22 members.
