Subsidy Removal: Osun Paliative Buses Begin Operation in Ile-Ife and Modakeke

As promised by the Governor Ademola Adeleke government, to ensure that residents of the state are not too affected by the removal of fuel subsidy, Osun State palliative buses have began operation in Ile-Ife and Modakeke towns.

 

Residents of the two towns and environs were in jubilant mood on the arrival of the ‘Imole De Buses’ in the ancient town to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy on the people.

 

The residents, who were seen entering the buses to their various destinations, described the gesture from the State Government as a good one because of the hardship the removal of subsidy on petroleum products have caused.

 

They echoed that the intervention has gone a long way in saving people from transportation hardship which they noted as very key to the success or otherwise of Small and Meduim Scale businesses.

 

Speaking, Mr Adedayo Jolaade who explained that bus plies Oke-Ogbo, Gbarin, Kosere, OSCAS roads of Ile-Ife explained that the buses has really saved him a lot of transportation cost on a daily basis.

 

Also speaking, a student , Bukola Isiaka who stays in Modakeke, said the ‘Imole De Buses’ has really helped a lot since it commenced operation on Esuyare; Iraye road.

 

She explained further that she ensures to wait for the bus every morning while going to school, as well as during close time because of the meager transport fare her parents could afford to give her.

 

Meanwhile, Osun State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele has hinted that anytime from now it will be the turn of Ikirun and Iwo to recieve the services of the ‘Imole De Buses’.
