Safe Space: HFDI Engages Adolescents In Creative Activity, Promotes Self-Expression, Others

To thrive in a creative activity, promoting self-expression, fine motor skills, and patience, Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI engaged adolescents in Akwa Ibom state.

The HFDI Facilitator, Daniel Williams introduced to the Adolescents the concept of fine art and the importance of patience and practice in creating beautiful artwork.

Adolescent were guided through a step-by-step process of drawing a donkey, starting with basic shapes and gradually adding details.

After completing the drawing, participants were provided with a range of colors and materials to bring their donkey to life.

The session concluded with participants sharing their artwork and receiving feedback and encouragements

The Adolescent demonstrated improved fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through the drawing and coloring process, and they expressed their creativity and individuality through their artwork, while learning the value of patience and persistence in creating something beautiful.

Some of the participants were guided in their proportions and details, with additional support and guidance to help participants overcome these challenges.

The fine art session provided the participants with a fun-filled and engaging way to develop their creative skills. With some adjustments, future sessions could be even more effective in promoting self-expression and creativity among adolescents.
