OSCOTECH Alumni Urged To Thrive On Unity, Communication for Development At 12th Convention

The National Alumni Association of the Osun State College of Technology Esaoke, has been urged to use unity, communication and friendship as a thriving tool for development of its members in various of the country and globe at large.
This is as the OSCOTECH Alumni at its 12th Convention ceremony, awarded outstanding Stakeholders, Former Executives and Alumnus of the association.
Highlighting the Alma Mater of the Alumni as a source of friendship for benefit that could lead to growth and development of one’s life, the Guest Speaker, Assoc. Prof. Barr. Engr. Adedayo Sobowale LLB, BL, LLM, PGDE, Dean Faculty of Computer and Information Engineering, Federal University Oye, Ekiti State, listed benefits of Alumni networking for future purposes.
Basing his lecture on the theme: Alumni Nexus of Networking for Economic Survival, Sustainability and Development in Nigeria: The Way Forward, Assoc. Prof Sobowale stated that an Alumni status may determine level of placement tomorrow, as an alumnus of a school may meet his colleague in a place that will elevate him.
He added that having the right character plus friendship, provides platform for connection, and he urged all to sow good seeds of friendship that will yield good fruit whenever it’s needed, he also charged the Alumni to shun loneliness and isolation, but to create platforms and grow perspectives.
Assoc. Prof Sobowale stressing that friendship aids development and align with survival and sustainability in this economy, by means of having good attitude, communicating, being available and protecting each other, he maintained that the Network of an Alumni is its Networth, and urged the OSCOTECH Alumni Association members to connect, communicate and support each other, create innovations, have vision as well as goal that will aid development.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman OSCOTECH Governing Council, Prince Diran Odeyemi lauded OSCOTECH Alumni for aligning and being a force to reckon with among Alumni associations in the country.
He expressed delight at the project constructed on the campus by the Alumni, adding that the administration of Dr Adewale Afolabi is doing well like his predecessors, he particularly applauded OSCOTECH Alumni for the upgrading 1,500 capacity Auditorium, and the intended hostel that will built.
He urged the Alumni to subsist on its strengths and use it for the development of its members, itself and its Alma Mater; the college, reiterating the support of the school management for the group.
Also the Rector, Dr SAO Adegoke, the Owamiran of EsaOke, HRM Oba Adeyemi Adediran and other dignitaries at the 12th Convention lauded OSCOTECH National Alumni Association for the indelible mark on the campus, the community and sectors of the state, country and international region.
Hammering the stance on continued friendship, they opined that this will greatly improve relationships and grant support as at needed for networking, or other transactions that embraces development.
In his opening remark, the OSCOTECH Alumni National President, Dr Adewale Afolabi appreciated the guests for attending the epoch making event, adding that the association is running inclusive government to further enhance growth and development, and he called on Departmental and Faculty alumni of the association across the country and globe to link up to the vision of the national body.
On the state of the nation, he called on President Bola Tinubu to judiciously appropriate the money realized on the fuel subsidy removal since inception of his administration, so as to reduce the suffering of the people, adding that the investment should be made on free education from primary to tertiary institutions, free health care for citizens and more functional refineries.

He used the medium to make a passionate appeal to Governor Ademola Adeleke to upgrade the Alumni Alma Mater, College: Polytechnic education to University of Education, Science and Technology, Esa Oke, asserting that the college has capable facilities to accommodate it, he added that t would make the Governor’s governance to stand out among the previous ones, with the significant impacts in education and technology advancements.

The Management of Osun State College of Technology Esaoke, Royal Fathers, Former Presidents and Executives, Chapter Chairmen, Alumni Members in Diaspora, Students Union as well as Friends and Family of Awardees were in attendance at the OSCOTECH Alumni Convention chaired by the associations pioneer Chairman, Hon Abiodun Durosinmi, who was also the Chairman North America Chapter.
Awards category given at the 12th Convention which held at the Alumni Auditorium include: Presidents Distinguished Alumnus Awards, Best Chapter of the Year, Honorary Awards, and Posthumous Awards.
