Infant Pediatrics Adolescents and Young Persons: HFDI Conducts Inaugural Review Meeting

Towards caring for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC case management) with specific focus on Children and young persons living with HIV (CAYPLHIV), HIV Exposed Infants (HEI), High risk Adolescent and Young Persons (AYP), Children living with HIV (CLHIV) and Survival of Violence against Children (SVAC), Hope for Family Development Initiatives conducted review meeting on the progress of the project in Kwara state.

 

The Infant Pediatrics Adolescents and Young Persons, IPAYP project implemented by HFDI showcased the activities of the community case managers for the month of August, which was thoroughly assessed.

 

In his welcome of address, the HFDI Executive Director, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele highlighted to the Community Case Managers, analysis of the first month projects implementation, where he emphasised that performance would be evaluated quarterly, coupled with achievements made via engagement of the project.

 

Ambassador Aremu listed the target 5 main pillars (domains) of supports/services areas as Health and nutrition, education, Household Economic Strengthening Service (HESS), Gender, Human Right and Social Service (GHRSP), and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services.

 

The ED also urged the Community Case Managers to redouble their efforts, and to ensure that all beneficiaries are serviced before the middle of the month of September.

 

Also speaking, Dr. Opeoluwa Farinu, the State Technical Lead from SFH, provided technical guidance on the project, offering clear insights into its focus areas, including the enrolment streams of OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children), OVC case management, care plan development, and the provision of essential services to beneficiaries.

 

Similarly, the Community Case Managers presented reports of activities conducted throughout the month.

 

The review meeting was deemed a success, with 28 Community Case Managers, the Program Manager, the SFH State Technical Lead, and the Executive Director, Dr. Amb. Stephen Aremu in attendance.
