GC-7: ACOMIN, State Partners Coordinates on Malaria, HIV, TB Cases In Osun state

Towards having a healthy lifestyle and community free of diseases, Accountability of Civil Society on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition, ACOMIN, has strategically coordinated plans to implement zero malaria, HIV and Tuberculosis program in Osun state.

 

This is as the Civil Society organizations ACOMIN project with GC-7 maps activities to end the identified prevalent diseases in the state.

 

Addressing the gathering of Community Based Organizations CBOs, the Osun ACOMIN Chairman, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele stated that with the GC-7, the focus is changing away from malaria prevention program only.

According to Ambassador Aremu, the 16 Community Based Organizations being worked with on the project has now increased to 22.

 

Also, the beneficiary local governments have been increased from eight to eleven, which include: Olorunda, Irepodun, Obokun, Boluwaduro, Ilesha West, Iwo, Ejigbo, Egbedore as well as Ede North, Boripe, and Ife East LGs

 

At the coordination meeting which held at Omilas Continental Hotel & Suites in Osogbo, the Community Based Organizations mapped activities to have successful project.

The State Program Officer, Segun Amoto urged the CBOs on the importance of availability and capturing of beneficiaries identified by the project.

 

He added that the GC-7 ACOMIN program in Osun will partner stakeholders on improved services at the health facilities, adding that supporting and monitoring the project is important.
