G-C7 N-THRIP PROJECT HOLDS STRATEGIC REVIEW MEETING, REITERATES COMMITMENT TO SERVICE DELIVERY

In its role of preventing new TB and HIV infections, ensure early diagnosis, and provide comprehensive care for affected individuals, and increasing the coverage for TB services in the community and private sector as well as their contribution to National TB notification, Global fund National TB & HIV Reach and Impact Project (NTHRIP) held a strategic review meeting to enhance its delivery.

 

The strategic review meeting held at Ilorin, Kwara state on the G-C7 N-THRIP project brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from SFH (Society for Family Health) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), to review the progress of the project, share successes, and address existing challenges.

 

The group also reiterated its commitment to service delivery on its objectives such as, enhancing nationwide TB and HIV prevention, care, and treatment, expanding HIV testing for all pregnant women in the community toward preventing/eliminating Mother-To-Child Transmission of HIV and strengthening laboratories, supply chain management, monitoring and evaluation and stakeholder accountability.

 

The SFH team delivered a series of presentations highlighting the progress made in the implementation of the project. Their presentations focused on key achievements, lessons learned, and areas that require further strengthening to ensure the effectiveness of the project.

 

Similarly Community Based Organisations, CBOs representatives presented their reports, detailing their experiences since the inception of the project, with discussions revolving around the successes achieved in community engagements, program implementation, and impact on the target beneficiaries.

 

At the meeting, the Executive Director of HFDI (Hope for the Development Initiative), Ambassador Aremu Stephen Akinyele raised several critical challenges affecting the organization’s ability to deliver effectively on the project.

 

The participating CBOs also shared challenges encountered in project execution, including funding constraints, and logistical difficulties, which affects the ability of CBOs and staff to effectively implement project activities.

 

Gc-7 NTHRIP project identified the gaps and assured of improved project outcomes, through conducting an internal review to document the gaps, propose practical solutions to address these gaps, and explore ways of resolving key challenges, especially regarding funding and capacity building identified in project implementation.

 

The well attended strategic review meeting provided an important platform for assessing the progress of the G-C7 N-THRIP project, acknowledging successes, and identifying areas that need urgent intervention, as the concerns raised, highlighted critical resource and operational challenges, addressed for the project to achieve its intended impact.

 

Hope For Family Development Initiatives, HFDI described the review meeting an applaudable action necessary for the success of the projects, through it’s monitoring and evaluation.

 

At the G-C7 N-THRIP project, the stakeholders reiterated their dedication and pledge to implement solutions, crucial in ensuring the success of the projects in the targeted communities and states for the benefits of the people.
