Ekiti Commissioner For Women Affairs Lauds Advance Women Participation In Politics HFDI/Ifa Project

Ekiti State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Mrs. Peju Babafemi has lauded advance “Women Participation In Politics” program for female elected candidates in the state.

 

This is as she applauded Hope for Family Development Initiatives and Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen Ifa, for being gender friendly and putting up developmental project to empower the female aspirants in South West Nigeria, Ekiti state inclusive.

 

Mrs Babafemi made this known at the courtesy/advocacy meeting visit made by the HFDI Nigeria Team to her office, to discuss the ongoing project focused on advancing women’s participation in politics through female elected candidates in South West Nigeria supported with German federal foreign office’s funds by ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen), Zink funding programme.

 

The Ekiti Women Affairs Commissioner who commended the project, aligned it with the vision of the Ekiti State Governor Oyebamiji, aimed at boosting women’s involvement in politics.

She stressed the significance of women’s presence in decision-making forums to advocate for gender equality and combat gender-based violence, and assured the HFDI team of her support for the project, while expressing openness to continued collaboration with the organization.

 

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ekiti state Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Omotayo Olatilu, added that the female folks associations in the state will always collaborate with HFDI in its women friendly projects.

 

She added that good feedbacks from the participants of their various programs is a testament of how impactful the advance Women Participation In Politics project is.

 

Also at the advocacy visit led by the HFDI Program Manager, Adeola Falana was Mr. Akomolafe, the Deputy Director of the Ekiti State Commissioner for Women Affairs, among others.
