It was a black Saturday in Ilesa, Osun State, as a forest guard officer allegedly discharged his firearm accidentally during a burial ceremony at Oke Iro, leaving one dead and four others reportedly injured.

An eyewitness account reveals that approximately six hunters were invited from Plateau State to attend the burial ceremony by one of the deceased’s children.

According to the report, tragedy struck when the armed men were rendering a gun salute to the deceased, but one of the barrels misfired, killing an infant instantly and leaving four others injured.
