Assets Management are good for financial investment and stability – Osun NIESV tells residents

Osun state branch of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, NIESV has called on Osun residents to make use of Estate surveyors and valuers to manage their assets, a decision which is good for financial investment and stability.
The Institution made this known on the commemoration of her annual Valuation Day program on 6th May, 2024 held in Osogbo, the state capital.
Osun NIESV held sensitization walk to campaign to the good people of the state on the “importance of assets valuation in financial stability.”
Speaking with newsmen at the walk, the Chairman of Osun NIESV, ESV Adekunle Adedoye represented by the Vice Chairman, ESV Olusola Jubril Adebiyi, said Valuation Day is a Global celebration meant to create more awareness about the understanding and engagement of the society on asset and the roles of estate surveyors and valuers.
According to him, the usage of valuers in the investment world has become a global phenomenon that everyone can not afford to do without Estate Surveyors and Valuers in the financial world, he added that mispricing experience has always led to financial crisis, hence this necessitating the relevance and importance of the profession.
Adebiyi stated that there can’t be financial stability if asset valuation and the general valuation is not in the right perspective and the government is not adopting into the benefits therein, stressed that financial institution uses asset as collateral to take investment decision, while governed by a registered chartered Valuer.
“Most governments are embarking on Infrastructure growth, hence it is germane that they take this path with professional Estate Surveyors and Valuers to carry out the valuation process.”
Also speaking, the immediate past Chairman of Osun NIESV, ESV Segun Fasiku, stated that Valuation Day is about bringing awareness to the populace about valuation, adding that this is the fourth edition sensitization program on the nitty gritty of Estate Surveyors and Valuers profession.
ESV Fasiku opined that most individuals and government do not understand the kind of asset they have, that’s why you see such wasting away, he added that there is money attached to investments in form of value, and this is applicable to asset, as it aids one to know what steps to take in investment and the worth.
Osun NIESV on the edition of 2024 Valuation Day, gave kudos to Governor Ademola Adeleke for recognizing the Institution in the state, adding that at present we are involved at site to do valuation of properties, which are on rights of way for the recently awarded construction of roads in Ilesa axis of the state.
Speaking further, the Osun NIESV asserted that the terrain of Estate Surveyors and Valuers is large, and they called on the government to include the institution in Osun state rent tribunal panel, property valuation of the ministry of justice among others.
