ACOMIN Appreciates Health Ministry For Ad-hoc Staff, Urge Government To Employ Full-Time Health Personnel At PHCs

A non-governmental organisation, known as Accountability of Civil Society Organizations on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition, ACOMIN has appreciated Osun state Ministry of Health for the engagement of Adhoc health staff in Primary Healthcare Centers across the state.
This is as ACOMIN again appealed to the State government to employ full time health personnel, to boost healthcare services to the good people of Osun.
This was disclosed by the Osun state ACOMIN Chairman, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele at the February Monthly Coordination Meeting (MCM), held at Omilas Continental Hotel Conference hall in Osogbo.
At the MCM which had Executive Directors, EDs of the Community Based Organizations CBOs involved in the program, Ambassador Aremu reminded all that the project signed memorandum of understanding, MOU with organizations, and it is important for EDs to take ownership of the project and monitor the activities of their POs and CATs.
Speaking on the GC7 project reporting template, he also mentioned that shortage of facility staff, is a challenge which has been presented to the government to solve, adding that with the involvement of ACOMIN stakeholders, there is improvement in health service delivery.
Emphasizing that the objective of ACOMIN include assisting people in the community on health related issues at the PHCs, he stated that they are also to ensure that the health system is better and accessible to the people.
He charged the Community Based Organizations: Executive Directors, Program Officers and partners of ACOMIN such as Society for Family Health SFH, Management Sciences for Health MSH, Primary Healthcare Development Board, and the state Ministry of Health, to subsist on team work and collectively solve issues, to achieve effective and efficient service delivery to the residents of various communities in the local governments.
In his goodwill message, the State Manager, Roll Back Malaria Program, Dr Olufemi Oroge appreciated ACOMIN and its partners for being passionate about assisting it’s target beneficiaries across focal and non focal centers of the PHCs in Osun.
Adding that validation and data capturing system of ACOMIN has helped in health service performances, he reiterated that the government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke will not relent his promise of providing prompt and adequate healthcare service to the good people of the state, he also added that the issue of health personnel will be addressed.
The State Programme Officer, SPO David Amoto in his presentation, urged the Program Officers of the various CBOs to improve on the involvement of stakeholders in SATs, and CATs, so as to solidify the health system support.
