Osun Govt Intensifies Drive for Safe, Sustainable Water Supply
The Osun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing potable and sustainable water supply to residents, as part of ongoing reforms under the administration of Ademola Adeleke.
This assurance was reiterated during an inspection visit by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Sunday Oroniyi, to the Osun State Integrated Ventures (UNIOSUN) water packaging factory.
Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner commended the management of the facility for maintaining high production standards and ensuring sustainability in water processing and distribution across the state.
He noted that the inspection was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the factory and the State Water Regulatory Commission, while positioning the facility as a model for sachet and table water producers in Osun.
According to him, the exercise also provided an opportunity to assess key aspects of production, including water quality, environmental conditions, and the integrity of raw water sources.
In the same vein, the Special Adviser to the Governor on STOWASSA/WRC, Princess Oyeboade Oyewale Afolabi, stressed the need for strict compliance with regulatory standards to safeguard public health and ensure quality water delivery.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Osun State Integrated Ventures, Mr. Dairo, appreciated the Commissioner and his team for the visit.
The inspection, which covered the production facility, also involved the Chairman of the Osun State chapter of the Association of Table Water Producers of Nigeria (ATWAP) and CEO of Famadek Pure Water, Alhaji Fatai Adeyemi, who participated in the factory assessment.
