The Provost of the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem has charged lecturers and other members of staff to be alive and responsive to their duties at all times.
The is also as he urged students of the health technology training institution to take their studies serious, assuring them that the College management will support them to achieve excellence in their academic dreams.
The Provost stated these while addressing both staff and students at the 2026 inter-denominational prayer programme organised to commence activities at the College in the new year.
He called on lecturers and members of staff to continue to pursue academic excellence for themselves and the students in 2026, stressing that the institution has a name to protect as one of the best health technology training institution in this part of the world.
Dr Raheem while urging lecturers to continue to pursue individual academic growth, said this became necessary so that they wont be found wanting by the time the College is upgraded to a Polytechnic.
While assuring of his support to any staff who is ready to pursue further academic aspirations, the Provost solicited for the cooperation of every member of staff to continue help the college to produce quality health professionals.
According to him,”I warmly welcome you back to work after Christmas and New Year Break which lasted four weeks. It is prayers that we remain alive in good health to witness many more celebrations.
“As I welcome you into the brand new year 2026, I want everyone be more alive and responsive to their duties. Let us all continue to work hard and protect the reputation of this great College as one of the best health technology training institution around.
“I urge you to do away with lackadaisical attitude at work, perform your duties with utmost seriousness and dedication. See your students as your children, and have it in mind that you must give your best to them, after all that is why we are all here and receiving salaries.
“Like I have always done, I once again encourage you to pursue higher academic qualifications in addition to ones you already have, it is for your own good and for our students. I implore you to commence now, and I assure you of whatever support you may require. Seek for more knowledge please”. He stated.
The inter-denominational prayers which brought together both staff students saw prayers rendered in both the Islamic and Christian way as the new year was committed into the hands of God for guidance and protection.
