HFDI Holds HPV Vaccination Review Meeting, Emphasises Monitoring 

Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI held a review meeting on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination which held recently across the state Primary Healthcare Centres.

 

In his welcome address, the Executive Director HFDI, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele commended the organisations who funded the project in Osun state and Nigeria as a whole.

 

Speaking at the meeting which held at the Conference hall of Intercontinental Hotel in Osogbo, he said World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations Children’s Education Fund UNICEF has saved lives of children with their numerous health programmes.

 

He appreciated everyone for attending the meeting and encouraged all stakeholders to continue to spread accurate information about the HPV vaccine to the target age group of 0–5 years old.

 

He encouraged everyone to continue to spread the message about the importance of the HPV vaccine, especially to mothers, stating that the vaccine is important for both boys and girls.

 

Ambassador Aremu stated that the vaccination campaign which moved from Schools, churches, mosques and markets, reached some target beneficiaries of the approved age group, he added that more effort need to be put in for the population to be captured as projected.

 

He maintained that monitoring of Immunisation programme will aid evaluation and solve gaps in the process.
