Be Focused; HFDI Advocates To Students in Osun

Hope For Family Development Initiative HFDI has advocated to senior secondary school students in Osun state to be focused on their actions and activities as they grow daily.

The charge was made by Alagbile Comfort and Sangodele Yemi at the school outreach at Eyitayo Group of Schools, Agunbelewo, Osogbo, Osun State.

 

Speaking on the topic: Be focused, avoid distraction” which covered the meaning , its effects and how students can overcome it. The outreach was interactive, informative and tailored to help students become more focused and successful in their studies.

 

The facilitator who explained what distraction means to the students, as anything that takes their attention away from what they are supposed to be doing, citing example as being on phone or social media, chatting with friends during class, daydreaming or getting lost in their own thoughts.

 

She also linked the consequences of being distracted with Poor Academic Performance, Wasted Time, Increased Stress, and Missed Opportunities on learning new things or grow their skills

 

The Benefits of Staying Focused was highlighted as better focus, more productivity, less stress and improved learning which  aided focus, understanding and knowledge.

 

Charging the students on setting clear goals, Alagbile also urged them to create a quiet study area, manage their time well and stay organised.

 

The facilitator further emphasised that overcoming distraction takes practice and lead to good habits and activities.
