Osun government has announced that the Agricultural Tractors acquired for enhancement of food security has been situated at Senatorial Districts across the state for accessibility of farmers.
This is as the government relays the rental location at the various federal constituency for effective usage by farmers who are in need of the tractors.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi during the Stewardship radio network program at the weekend.
Oluomo Kolapo Alimi who lauded the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke for his proactiveness, stated that leaving the tractors on farmlands without any usage will lead to unnecessary wear and tear, he added that to preserve and protect the equipment, attaching tracker to it was decided.
He stated further that for easy access by farmers, security and monitoring and evaluation, of the agricultural tractors, the ministry of Agriculture and food security moved the tractors to senatorial districts in the state.
He reiterated that with agriculture as a boost to economic viability and sustainability, the governments’ investment in Osun agricultural sector is commendable, as he called on legit farmers who are sincerely in need of the tractors to visit the approved location and rent as needed.
Also, giving reason for delay in operation of the tractors, the Commissioner for information stated that at receipt of the tractors, the equipments were more than the available operators, he added that the government therefore gave approval to employ more operators, who have been trained on the usage of the agricultural tractors.
At the Federal Constituencies across the state, the tractors operation and collection office are as follows:
• Osogbo / Olorunda / Orolu constituency – Collection point is Aisu Oke-Osun Amotekun office
• Ifelodun / Boripe / Odo-Otin – Collection point is Maternity Post office area Ikirun by Amotekun office and Obas palace
• Boluwaduro / Ila/ Ifedayo – collection point is Oba Ayeni shopping complex Ila-Orangun
• Ede North / Ede South / Egbedore / Ejigbo – collection point is Aisu office Ede
• Iwo / Ola-Oluwa / Ayedire – collection point is OSADEP headquarter office, Iwo
• Irewole / Ayedaade / Isokan – collection point is Aisu office Wasimi
• Ife North / Ife South / Ife East/ Ife Central – collection point is Oke-dio Modakeke
• Atakumosa East / Atakumosa West / Ilesa East / Ilesa West – collection point is Ilaje by Ogendengbe school of science Ilesa
• Obokun / Oriade – collection point is Aisu office Esa-Odo.
He mentioned that additionally, the agricultural tractors can also be obtained at OSADEP office Ilobu road, Osogbo.
Furthermore, the Commissioner for Information added that the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke has made good plans for agricultural development, hence making sure that the accessibility and affordability of the tractors is not rigid, and also that centralising the operation is for record purposes and good usage of the equipment.
