Osun State Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke has reiterated his commitment to continue to run an all inclusive government, saying that it is a catalyst to development at all levels of government anywhere in the world.

The Governor stated this at a Political Stakeholders Summit organized by the Ministry of Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations which was held at the Centre for Black Culture and International Understanding.

Governor Adeleke maintained that he is very passionate about the development of the State, noting that he would not compromise any efforts towards it.

He gave kudos to all political stakeholders present at the summit for their support towards good governance at all times, calling on them to see the job of taking Osun to greater heights as a collective responsibility, adding that his government will always welcome all ideas that would enhance speedy development of the state.

While commending the Ministry for organising the programme, which he said came at the right time when the State is celebrating its 33rd anniversary, he averred that democracy remains the best system of government because of the many benefits people derive from it.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. Biyi Odunlade, said the Summit became necessity in order to bring together political stakeholders to develop credible policies for the socio-economic development of the State, as well as to bring about the promotion and enhancement of a political culture of harmony and consensus building.

He charged all operators of democracy to develop the passion to embrace the culture for development and eschew all the intrigues of partisan dictatorship.

The Guest Speaker at the event, Professor Adeola Ogunrin, who spoke on Grassroots Socialisation for Development as well as Political Inclusiveness and Loyalty, explained that loyalty in politics is a strong pillar which should not be toiled with by politicians. He identified accessibility, loyalty and full participation as keys to all political ideologies.

In the same vein, the Deputy Minority Leader in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi, who represented a former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, called on the government and the citizens of the State to come together in order to move the State forward. He stressed that government must be accountable, transparent and communicate with its citizens regularly.

Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, a former SSG in Osun State, who harped on the importance of avoiding violence in any political settling, therefore commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for encouraging peace and unity among political stakeholders in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Kayode Afolabi earlier in his remarks said that the presence of different political parties at the summit signifies the interest everybody has for the development of the state. He tasked all and sundry to support Governor Adeleke in his efforts at setting the feet of the State on the path towards development.
