NAWOJ APPRECIATES OSUN GOVERNMENT, STAKEHOLDERS ON KEKEREEKUN BURIAL PROGRAM

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Osun Chapter, has declared heartfelt gratitude to the state government and stakeholders who joined in commiserating the life of the late Taiwo KekereEkun.

 

In a release signed by the Chairperson of the association, Comrade Abisola Ariwodola appreciated the presence, prayers, and support given to NAWOJ and NUJ during the period of her exit.

 

“We are deeply touched by the overwhelming love and solidarity shown by friends, fans, veterans, well-wishers, and good people of Osun state, particularly, we appreciate the state government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke for his kind words, and generous donations before and during the burial.

 

We also appreciate our Matron, the First Lady of Osun state, Chief Mrs Titilola Adeleke, our Royal father, the Olowu of Kuta Kingdom, HRM Oba Dr. Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Tegbosun III, the Chairman of Fresh FM, Dr Yinka Ayefele, NUJ and NAWOJ family in entirety.

 

We appreciate the presence of the representative of the government, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the Chairman House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon Adekunle Oladimeji, Chairman UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Board, Hon Niyi Owolade, Chairman OSCOED Board, Hon Peter Babalola, Fresh FM management, and other distinguished guests.

 

Similarly, Osun NAWOJ appreciates the presence of security personnel, the Nigeria Police: Force PRO Yemisi Opalola, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, the Nigeria Correctional service and the para-military personnel who attended the commendation service.

 

Special thanks to the officiating ministers: Pastor Niyi Kolawole, Pastor Dele Ilori and others, as well as Association of Veteran Journalists Osun, and to everyone who played a role in the commendation service and laying down to mother-earth rites.

 

By extension, we appreciate our mother body, the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, led by Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu, and we also thank the family, and pray God comfort them.

 

Testimonies abound on the life and times of our late vice chairperson, Taiwo Kekereekun, whose dedication and hardwork didn’t go unnoticed, and she will always be remembered for her remarkable contributions and the legacy left behind.
