Osun Government Reiterates Commitment to Good Governance

Osun State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has reiterated it’s commitment to dispensing good governance to the people of the State via it’s 5-point developmental agenda.
The Special Adviser the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Hon Eniola Odeniyi emphasized this during the homage paid on the Alapomu Apomu Kingdom, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi, in his palace before the commencement of the market rally at Owode- Apomu market in Isokan Local Government.
Hon Odeniyi, who trumpeted the achievements of Governor Ademola before the Royal Father and his chiefs, added that the government is particular about citizens’ needs cum development, as dividends of democracy.
In his response, the Traditional Ruler of the ancient town of Apomu, Oba Kayode Afolabi commended the Government for it’s proactive steps in developing the State, adjudging Owode-Apomu market as the biggest in the region, as well as one of the largest market in the present Osun State.
Oba Afolabi called on the Government to consider the market in terms of infrastructural development with provision of amenities such as roads, toilets, among others, adding that this will boost the market as well as provide internally generated revenue and other benefits for the State Government.
Speaking in the market square, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Hon Eniola Odeniyi, who took time to appreciate the people for supporting the Government of Senator Ademola Adeleke, promised that the government will continue to attend to the needs of the people.
Also speaking, the Iyaloja-General of Osun State, Chief (Mrs) Mary Oyebode thanked the women for believing in the government of the day, imploring them to continue to reciprocate the kind gestures of the government by being law abiding and fulfilling their civic responsibilities.
She commended the Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment for the sensitization programme which, she observed,will not only help in showcasing government endeavour, but will also assist in receiving feedback from the grassroots for improved delivery of democracy dividends.
The market rally also had in attendance the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Modupe Irelewuyi; Director Finance and Accounts, Mrs Adebayo; Director Grassroots and Public Enlightenment, Mr Raphael Ojo; Director Press and Public Relations,Mr Moshood Suleiman; Director Social Mobilization and Strategy, Mr Segun Oyeniyi, and the Deputy Director Grassroots and Public Enlightenment Mr Ademola Lawal, as well the Deputy Director Administration and Supplies, Mr Waheed Ojulari, among others.
