OSCO-HEALTH Ilesa: Allegations Against Me Are Entirely Unfounded, Untrue and Without Merit – Provost

The Provost, Osun State College of Health Technology Ilesa, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem has declared that the allegations of mal-administration leveled against him are entirely unfounded, untrue and without merit.

The Provost stated this in a reaction to the petition against him which he made available to newsmen in Ilesa on Wednesday. He urged that all applicable laws, regulations and government directives should be respected especially concerning his tenure, succession arrangements and the composition of the College’s management.

The Provost’s reaction reads in part, “I have taken note of the publication titled “Urgent Report and Call for Government Intervention on Alleged Misconduct, Financial Irregularities and Governance Issues at the College of Health Sciences, Ilesa.” I wish to state categorically that the allegations levelled against me are unfounded, unsubstantiated and do not reflect the true position of affairs at the College.

“As the Provost of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa, I have consistently discharged my responsibilities within the framework of the law, established administrative procedures and the policies governing the institution. I have no intention of compromising the integrity of my office or the interests of the College. Any query or official communication brought to my attention will be addressed through the appropriate administrative channels.

“Regarding the allegations of diversion of students, financial irregularities, medical laboratory payments, staff recruitment and payroll manipulation, I categorically reject any suggestion of wrongdoing. All institutional activities and arrangements should be assessed objectively, based on verifiable records, relevant approvals and established procedures rather than speculation, hearsay or deliberate misrepresentation.

“On the issues concerning my tenure, succession arrangements and the composition of the College’s management, I maintain that all applicable laws, regulations and government directives should be respected. I also welcome any legitimate investigation by the appropriate government authorities, as transparency and accountability are essential principles of responsible public administration.

“I consider it important to emphasise that allegations should not be mistaken for established facts, and no individual should be condemned without a fair opportunity to respond. I remain committed to the growth, stability, academic advancement and institutional development of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa.

“I therefore urge our respected leaders, stakeholders, staff, students and the general public to disregard unverified claims and allow the appropriate authorities to establish the facts where necessary. My commitment to the College and the development of the health education sector in Osun State remains unwavering”. He stated.

The Provost as part of his reaction also brings to the attention of the public the Press Release of the State government made available by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Mallam Rasheed Olawale where it stated that the Governor has not sacked the Provost.

The Press release reads, “Governor Adeleke Did not Sack Provost of Ilesa College of Health Technology

● Dr Lateef Olanrewaju Raheem Remains the Substantive Provost of the College

Governor Ademola Adeleke did not sack the provost of Ilesa College of Health Technology as Dr Lateef Olanrewaju Raheem remains the substantive provost of the College.

The recent crisis within the institution has been resolved and issues raised about the management of the school has been duly reviewed by the state leadership.

A review of the management structure of the institution confirms full representation of the host community and Mr Governor is satisfied with the progress of the college within available resources.

The advertorial placed by the board of the institution is a routine administrative exercise as Mr Governor remains the main appointing authority who will soon take decision on the renewal of the appointment of the incumbent provost.

Members of the public are therefore urged to ignore any rumour. Dr Raheem remains the substantive provost of the College”.
