Group Delivers Home-Based Nutrition Support to Malnourished Child Living with HIV

A group identified as Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI has conducted home visit to provide essential services and follow-up support to a malnourished Children Living with HIV, CLHIV.
The intervention was aimed at assessing the childrens wellbeing, identifying nutritional needs, and strengthening the caregiver’s commitment to the child’s health and ongoing treatment.
As part of the visit, ARISE Food Support and Tom Brown were presented to the household to help address nutritional gaps and support improved dietary intake.
The caregiver was sensitized on the importance of providing adequate, balanced and nutritious meals to promote healthy growth, strengthen the child’s wellbeing, and complement ongoing HIV care and treatment.
The engagement also focused on encouraging consistent adherence to prescribed ARV treatment, proper nutrition practices, and regular clinic follow-up.
The caregivesr expressed appreciation for the support and guidance provided during the visit.
HFDI said the intervention strengthened household support for the child and provided practical nutritional assistance aimed at improving the child’s nutritional status and overall wellbeing.
The organization noted that home-based care and nutrition support remain critical for vulnerable children, especially those living with HIV, to ensure treatment continuity and improved health outcomes.
