Students of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa were among thousands of students and young entrepreneurs from across Osun State who converged in Osogbo for a one-day symposium.

The aim of the symposium tagged: “The Leverage Conversation, Osun 2025” was to discover and encourage young entrepreneurs with the intention of helping them to be self reliant and serve as a catalyst to boosting the economy of Osun State.

Notable speakers at the event include the C.E.O, Abebi foods, Mrs Adebisi Ganiyat Olatunde as well as Architect Ayodeji Ogedengbe, the C.E.O, Arts Deco group of companies among others who shared their experience of how their business started small and grew into bigger brands.

The symposium held at the main hall of Osogbo Grammar School was put together by Destiny Development Initiative Consult in collaboration with Osun State Ministry of Education with inputs from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).

Speaking after the about 7 hours symposium, students of Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa expressed gratitude to the Provost of the College, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem for sponsoring them to the event.

They said the opportunity has indeed been an eye opener for them in their quest to become entrepreneurs and become employers of labour instead of looking for white-collar jobs which are no longer existent.

The students pointed out that they are now aware that it is entrepreneurs who stimulate production, innovation and trade associations as well as recycle value with communities, adding that they have been equipped with what it takes to actually start a business brand and grow it in the Nigerian context.

Representative of the Provost at the event, the Director of Students Affairs, Mr Olayemi Bello who also served as a panelist during the business pitching event said he is very delighted to lead the OSCO-HEALTH students to the highly educative programme.

He said he is glad that the students were able to mingle and have engaging interactions with their counterparts from other tertiary institutions as well as with business owners from across the State.
