Osun State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Dipo Eluwole has described the Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa as pivotal in the ongoing revamp in the Health technology industry which Nigeria and Osun State government aims to achieve.
The is just as the Commissioner stressed that the Senator Ademola Adeleke administration remains committed to supporting the institution in a bid to making it one of the best Health Technology training Institution in the country and over.
Hon. Eluwole stated these while playing host to the institution’s Governing Board led by its Chairman, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke as well as other Management Staff led by the Provost of the College, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem.
He noted that serious governments across the globe are continously investing heavily in the health technology industry, stressing that Osun State will not be left behind.
The Commissioner who emphasized that OSCO-HEALTH, Ilesa will continue to attract government attention, assured that the campus will definitely benefit from plans to develope road infrastructures across all State owned tertiary institutions.
In his address, the Chairman, Governing Board of the College, Hon. Abayomi Adegoke expressed the determination to ensure that the vision of the Adeleke administration concerning the institution comes to reality.
He stressed that he is determined to improve students’ and staff welfare as well as working to change the nomenclature of the institution for the benefit of the College community.
Speaking earlier, the Provost of the College, Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Education through the Commissioner for the support towards the growth of the College over the years.
He however implored the Commissioner to use his personality and office to help fast track the upgrade of the College to a Polytechnic to pave way for the institution to start benefiting from TETFUND intervention which he said the institution is long overdue for.
In a welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr Murtala Jimoh appreciated the visit, saying it will go a long way in helping to achieve the goals of the College.
Also on the team of the courtesy visit were: other political members of the board, Alhaji Isiaka Akinlabi, Chief Mrs Serifat Adenike, Hon. Akinjimi Sunday, the Registrar, Mr Moshood Afolabi, the Bursar, Mr Yinka Olaleye, the Librarian, Mrs Kemi Ibitoye and Director of Works, Engr. Imran Kareem.
