Oba Arowotawaya Congratulates New Chief Imam of Erinmo-Ijesa town
A distinguish traditional ruler in Osun State, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government area, Oba. Dr. Micheal Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II has emphasized the need for son’s and daughters of the ancient town to come together and ensure there is total peace, unity and progress in the land.
The Elerinmo made this remark while addressing large crowd of Muslims community during the turbarning ceremony of the new Chief Imam of Erinmo-Ijesa, Ustazh Muhammad Qosim Muhammad Awwal at the Central Mosque of the town on Friday.
Oba Arowotawaya said, the ancient Erinmo-Ijesa town is highly endowed with human and capital resources saying coming together under one umbrella will contribute to the development of the land.
The Elerinmo who congratulated the new Chief Imam said, he made history as the youngest and educated person to occupy the exalted position.
The new Chief Imam of Erinmo-Ijesa town, Ustadh Muhammad Qosim Muhammad Awwal was installed following the death of the former Chief Imam, Late Alhaji Burahimo Olowu who was the fifth (5th) Chief Imam.
The Elerinmo who was highly elated called on the entire Muslims in Erinmo-Ijesa town to demonstrate their unalloyed and unflinching support to the new Chief Imam.
Oba Arowotawaya who called on adherent of other religions and Muslims alike to learn to live together in peace further admonished Ustadh Muhammad Qosim Muhammad Awwal to always carry his followers along and always be accountability and be openness in all his day to day activities saying leadership is not about one person, “two heads is better than one” they say.
While speaking at the well attended tubarning ceremony, the Grand Imam of Ijesha Land, Sheikh Idris Muh Jamiu Bakare declared that the new Chief Imam of Erinmo-Ijesa, Ustadh Muhammad Qosim Muhammad Awwal is fit and competent for the position while calling on the people to support him in all ramifications.
It would be recalled that, the new Chief Imam, Ustadh Muhammad Qosim Muhammad Awwal emerged after a rigorous selection process which involved other aspirants for the position.
The tubarning ceremony witness the attendance of people from all walks of life including traditional rulers from far and near.
Among the traditional rulers who was at the tubaning ceremony includes, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Ijesa, Oba Agunsoye Oluwafemi, the Olowena of Owena-Ijesa, Oba Oladoyinbo Ayelabola, the Olodogo of Odogo-Ijesa, the Aringbajo of Igbajo Erinmo-Ijesa as well as important personalities from cream of society which also include the Chairman of the famous Akewusola Pharmacy, Ilesa, Alhaji Muili Akewusola, Islamic Clerics from the Raodat Institute of Arabic and Islamic studies Ikirun – Alhaji Mustopha Gazali, Alhaji lukmon Solaudeen, Alfa lukmon oke iroko, Alhaji Gazali Ola sheu, Chiefs, Christian clerics among other special guests to mention.
The new Chief Imam of Erinmo-Ijesa, Ustadh Muhammad Qosim Muhammad Awwal while speaking gives thanks to the Almighty Allah, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, Oba. Dr. Michael Ajayi Odunayo, Arowotawaya II, the Grand Imam of Ijesa land, Sheikh Idris Muh Jamiu Bakare, the Muslim community in Erinmo-Ijesa as well as traditional rulers in Ijesa land.
“I am highly elated today and I promise you all that, I will not fail in all ramifications but I want you all to support me as I cannot do it alone”.
The new Chief Imam of Erinmo-Ijesa was born and raised in Erinmo-Ijesa Osun state on 13th March 1988. He attended Trust foundation Nur/pry school in Erinmo ijesa, where he obtained first school leaving certificate in 1999.
He continued his secondary education at Erinmo Comm Gramm School, where he earned his West Africa school certificate and after completing his secondary education he furthered his academic pursuits at the Osun State College of Education Ilesa ( OSCOED) between 2006-2009.
Subsequently he gained admission to Rawdat Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies Ikirun Osun state in 2007. The dedication to Education led him to obtain a 2yrs course at Kwara state Legal studies Ilorin in 2018.
His academic achievements laid a foundation for his future endeavours in the realms of educations, Dawah (Islamic propagation) and Social linguistics.
