NAWOJ Congratulates First Nigerian Army Female Director Public Relations Officer

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Congratulates Lieutenant Colonel Anele Onyinyechi On Her Recent Appointment As Director Public Relation For Nigerian Army.

 

In a historic move, the Nigerian Army has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Anele Onyinyechi Appolonia as the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, the first female officer to hold this position.

 

Lt Col Anele, who is a member of Direct Regular Course 15 and an active member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), will officially assume office as head of public relations on 22 April 2025.

 

NAWOJ National Chairperson, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim, states that this trailblazing achievement marks a significant milestone in the Nigerian Army’s journey towards gender inclusivity and diversity.

 

While speaking to journalists in Abuja, Ibrahim extended the warmest congratulations to the newly appointed director on this remarkable accomplishment. Adding that her appointment is a testament to her exceptional skills, dedication, and expertise in public relations.

 

The NAWOJ Boss further said this achievement will serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to young women aspiring to leadership roles in the military and other endeavors.

 

“We look forward to seeing the impact of her leadership on the Nigerian Army’s public relations department.” She said.
