Memory: HFDI Partners Osun Government to tackle Coronavirus

Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI, a Non-Governmental Organization whose one of its objective is to protect the Health of Women, Children and Vulnerable in the state of Osun has partnered Osun Government in its fight against Coronavirus known as Covid 19.

 

The NGO headed by its Executive Director, Mr Aremu Stephen Akinyele was welcomed to render the services by the Deputy Governor State of Osun, Mr Benedict Alabi in the company of the Executive Secretary Osun Health Insurance Scheme OHIS, Dr Tunde Oginni and World Health Organization, as well as Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC Representative at Ejigbo Isolation Center.

 

This is just as Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI urged the government to be proactive in tackling the pandemic through the Ministry of Health, and the State Primary Healthcare Development Board via awareness, sensitisation, educating the health service providers and immunisation of the people in the state.

 

At the Center, the Deputy Governor charged the people to remain calm, added that the state government will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the quarantined ones get adequate health care till they are healed.

 

He also added that those who tested negative and on self Isolation should go to hospital in case any symptom of coronavirus is noticed, adding that at a time as this precaution and prevention is the watchword.

 

The Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Scheme OHIS Dr Tunde Oginni while welcoming and introducing the HFDI team said the government is determined that the spread of Coronavirus in Osun is contained, adding that necessary measures is in place courtesy of the approval of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to ensure that Osun survive and win the fight against Covid 19.

 

While thanking Hope for Family Development Initiative HFDI for joining the Government with its wealth of experience to serve the state, Dr Oginni said that it is important for Osun citizens to do the needful in cooperating with the government and ensure that they are safe.

 

Mr Aremu on his part said, the opportunity to partner Osun government in the fight against the pandemic virus is a call to serve humanity, added that the government cannot do it alone, hence the decision of his Organization to support the government in taking care of the people via sensitization, fumigation and other needed logistics.

 

He said Osun is blessed with a good government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who made the health and welfare of the people a reality, affirmed that with the directives of the state Governor for stay at home, the virus impact will soon completely be an history.

 

Aremu used the medium to call on bodies, individuals and Organization to support the government in the fight against the pandemic Coronavirus, said all hands needs to be deck at this period and we all have to watch out for each other by being our brothers keeper.

 

While appreciating the proactive measures of Osun government, he also called for donations from well meaning Nigerians and as well charged the people of the state to obey Government Emergency Prevention Regulations and not falter thereby risking imprisonment through violation.
