Gov Adeleke Charges Security Agencies On Proactive Measures, Assures Residents Of Safety 

Amidst the rising banditry attacks and security challenges in some neighbouring states, Governor Ademola Adeleke has disclosed that his government has taken proactive measures against any infiltration of bandits into the state.

 

According to the Governor, over the last three weeks, series of security meetings with security chiefs and stakeholders in our border communities have held, and concrete actions are being taken to ensure vigilance and strengthen our capacity to repel any form of incursion.

 

He stated that the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of State Security (DSS), the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have all given special attention to Osun state, with ongoing strategic security deployments across identified areas of concern across the state.

 

“Our security agencies remain fully on top of the situation. I appeal to us as a people to always provide credible information and promptly report any strange movements observed within our community. I have also directed the Amotekun security service to work closely with the police and other security agencies to further strengthen the safety and protection of our people.”

 

Speaking on the state of the local government matters, he said, “while we await the Supreme Court to rule on the local government matter, I urge everyone to remain law abiding as we are all resolved not to take the law into our own hands.”

 

Also, on the impasse within the state judiciary, I remain optimistic that it will soon resolve its internal issues. As the Executive Governor of the state, I will not interfere in judicial matters.

 

Governor Adeleke appreciated the citizens of the state for deep support of his administration by the people of Osun state., and he encouraged all to be security conscious and to go about their lawful businesses without any fear.

 

“Our government remains with the people, committed to delivering good governance and democratic dividends across all sectors – he stated.”
