End Plastic Pollution: HFDI Commemorates World Environment Day In Akwa Ibom 

 

With the aim of protecting the environment, Hope for Family Development Initiative, HFDI Akwa Ibom Team commemorated World Environment Day at Afaha Nsit Market, focusing on the theme “End Plastic Pollution.”

 

The event raised awareness among market patrons and vendors on the dangers of plastic pollution, and the importance of promoting sustainable practices, that enhances free polluted environment.

 

The HFDI team, using Interactive Demonstrations enlightened people at the market on sustainable practices, showcasing alternatives to recycle, reuse, and reduce plastics and engaging the public to educate them on the harmful effects of plastic pollution.

 

They also demonstrated waste bags and containers usage, showcased to encourage adoption, and they engaged business owners, thereby encouraging them to adopt plastic-reducing strategies, such as minimizing single-use plastics and promoting eco-friendly alternatives.

 

The event which successfully raised awareness about the importance of reducing plastic waste and its impact on human health, had market patrons and vendors showing interest in adopting sustainable practices, and the local businesses also committed to reducing plastic use.
