Ekosin Royal Stool: Court Issues Bench Warrant On Men For Disrupting Peace

A Magistrate Court of Osun State sitting in Osogbo has issued a bench warrant for the immediate arrest of Kayode Asa and Hezekiah Ilufoye for flouting court order over disruption of peace in Ekosin, in Odo-Otin local government.

The Bench Warrant was issued by Magistrate A. Adeyeba of Court Five in Osogbo on the 17th Day of June 2025.

The alleged criminals who were initially arrested by men of the Nigeria Police, claimed that the Oba-ship position was theirs and not for the government appointed Oba.

Kayode Asa and Hezekiah Ilufoye were then charged for setting bonfires all over the town at will and severely molesting anyone who would not address them as “kabiyesi”, thereby disrupting the peace of the Ekosin community, and breaching law and order. Their perceived opponents were also attacked all over Osun State, especially at Osogbo.

This illegal act was carried out to slander Oba Kasali Omotayo who was recognised by the Adeleke government as the nominated monarch for Ekosin, in Odo Otin Local Government Council, since his appointment on the 13 November 2022.

It was gathered that the culprit made their intention known on becoming the Kabiyesi of Ekosin, but the kingmakers did not select them.

The long arm of the law caught up with the duo of Kayode and Hezekiah, who were initially arrested by the Commissioner of Police Monitoring Unit on the 29th May 2025.

After the arrest by the police, they were charged to court for arraignment, then granted bail, but refused to appear before the court on 17th of June 2025.

Magistrate A. Adeyeba after the mention of their case issued a bench warrant, to all Police Units in Nigeria and abroad for their rearrest, asking anyone with useful information on their apprehension to contact the Nigeria Police, Commissioner of Police Monitoring Unit, State CID, Osogbo.
