CLHIV: HFDI Collaborates CCCRN To Enroll Beneficiaries into Akwa Ibom State Health Insurance Scheme

In line with the goal of the THRIVE project which is to improve the health and well-being of children living with Hiv and reduce HIV related risk among uninfected children and adolescents and young people to achieve sustained epidermic control, Center for Clinical Care & Clinical Research (CCCRN) in collaboration with Hope for family development Initiative (HFDI) facilitated the enrollment exercise of the target beneficiaries.

 

The objectives was to ensure that the beneficiaries are enrolled into the health insurance scheme, have access to quality healthcare, reducing financial burden to medical care, through the registration of the Children Living with HIV into the state health insurance scheme, held at Etinan General hospital, and Ikot Edibon Primary Health Centre, Nsit Ubium LGA of Akwa Ibom State.

 

HFDI team mobilised beneficiaries, both Children living with Hiv (CLHIV) and their siblings SCHLIV to ensure they have access to quality and affordable healthcare services from various communities.

 

During the exercise, the beneficiaries data, such as name, age, sex, date of birth, caregivers name, demographics and phone number were captured for enrollment by CCCRN Team, Mr Ndifreke.

 

The impact of the action will enable the enrolled children to access healthcare services, improve their overall health and well-being, and reduce the risk of complications associated with HIV, have access to continued care and support, regular follow-up visits which will be conducted to ensure that the enrolled children are accessing healthcare services and adhering to their treatment plans.

 

The activity showed increased number of beneficiaries, enrolled into health insurance to access health care services, promoting their overall well-being.
