ASUP OSCO-HEALTH, Ilesa Chapter Elects New Excos

…Comr. Ogungbe retains seat as Chairman, promises better welfare for members..

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Osun State College of Health Technology, Ilesa Chapter has elected new executives to lead the union in the College.

 

The election which was held withing the College campus saw Comrade Ayo Ogungbe retaining his seat as the Chairman of the Union in the College through a free and fair election.

 

The Zone “C” Coordinator of ASUP, Comrade Masopa Nurudeen and Comrade Ade Arikawe, ASUP Chairman, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo who is also the PRO for Zone “C” were both on ground to monitor and ensure the smooth conduct of the election.

ASUP members in the College having been duly accredited casted their votes for their candidates of choice in the election which lasted for about three hours and waited behind to witness the sorting and counting of the votes.

 

Announcing the results, the Chairman, ASUP Election Committee the College, (ASUPEC), Mr Olaitan Asimiyu commended the electorates for their peaceful conduct, which allowed the election committee to do a thorough job.

 

He also eulogized the contestants for maintaining peace and orderliness since the processes leading to the election commenced, which he said is the main reason for the success of the election.

 

In his acceptance speech, the OSCO-HEALTH ASUP Chairman, Comr. Ayo Ogungbe who commended the peaceful conduct of the election appreciated all the contestants for their spirit of sportsmanship.

 

He also praised the ASUP members in the College for their maturity and for cooperating with the election committee to achieve a successful conduct of the election, while also extending appreciation to the College management led by Dr Lateef Olarewaju Raheem for their commitment to the course of ASUP in the College.

 

In his words, “While appreciating every stakeholder that has been involved in the conduct of this peaceful election, I want to thank my members for returning me as Chairman.

 

“I am deeply honoured by this mandate and humbled by the trust you have placed in me. I assure you that this responsibility will be discharged with utmost dedication, transparency, fairness, and commitment to the collective interest of our members and the growth of our institution.

 

“I equally appreciate the electoral committee, past leaders, elders of the union, and all members who contributed in one way or another to the success of the election and the peaceful transition of leadership”. He stated.

 

Other members of the newly elected Exco include: Mr Fajemilo S., Gen. Sec, Mr Kolapo T., Gen. Sec, Mr Oluwadare Victor, Vice Chairman, Mrs Babalola L., Welfare Sec, Mrs Ogunwuyi M.C, Internal Auditor, Mr Nasiru Fatai, Treasurer, Mr Falola Phillip, Financial Sec, and Mr Ojesola J. who emerged as the AGS.
