ACOMIN SAT Conducted To Address Stockout Of Gloves, RDT and Malaria Drugs in Osun LGs 

The State Advocacy Team, SAT of Accountability of Civil Society Organizations on Malaria Control on Immunization and Nutrition ACOMIN visited Roll Back Malaria Officers in Olorunda and Ede North local governments area of Osun state to advocate on availability of RDT and malaria drugs for patients.

 

In Olorunda local government, the RBM said they will leverage on sister organizations to ensure that the drugs are available and distributed at the PHCs, especially where ACOMIN is working.

The CBOs involved: Hope for Family Development Initiatives HFDI, and Kingdom Seekers Outreach International were at the PHCs in Olorunda local government of Osun state.

In Ede North local government, the PHC in the Secretariat, Oke gada and Asunmo, was visited, the stockout RDT malaria drugs and gloves were addressed, and the RBM for the location made a promise that the drugs will be purchased, pending when the Global Fund will provide the malaria drugs.


For this local government, COPEI and Maltida Lape were involved in the SAT meeting, and the issue was eventually resolved with the intervention.

With the ACOMIN SAT resilience that this necessity has to be provided, community leaders were contacted and result was achieved.

The ACOMIN Deputy Chairman who led the State Advocacy Team, Pastor Victoria Ogundele, representing the state Chairman, Ambassador Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele, opined that the organization will consistently monitor the PHCs to ensure that basic amenities are always available to the people for malaria, HIV and TB services, among others.

The Roll Back Malaria Officers in the visited LGAs assured ACOMIN of adequate service delivery, while promising to always cooperate with the organization.

Similarly, the State Program Officer SPO Segun David Amoto stated that advocating on behalf of the people to relevant stakeholders and authorities to ensure availability of drugs, kits, staff among others is part of the objectives of ACOMIN in providing a malaria free environment.
