ACOMIN Cautions Stakeholders On Protection Of Osun PHCs Property

Accountability of Civil Society Organizations on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition, ACOMIN has cautioned stakeholders, health workers and personnel of Primary Healthcare Centres, PHCs in Osun state on the need to protect the properties, health consumables and non-consumables in the facilities.
The caution notice was issued at the August monthly coordination meeting held at the Conference hall of Omilas Continental Hotel, to dialogue on activities of the CBOs, successes and challenges, among others.
Addressing the Community Based organizations, the state chairman of ACOMIN, Dr Aremu Stephen Akinyele, reiterated the need for all stakeholders to protect every item in the target PHCs of ACOMIN project, while adding that this is a prerequisite to ensure nothing goes amiss.
He added that aside the monitoring of the facilities, and ensuring that the needed drugs are available, it is important that nothing is missing or goes wrong, so that the Malaria and HIV health service delivery will be hitch free.
The State Primary Healthcare Development Board, SPHDB HIV/AIDS Desk Officer Mrs Oluwatoyin Oladunmoye speaking on challenges of drugs availability at the PHCs, told the ACOMIN CBOs to inform the agency about needed drugs for the treatment of patients, whenever any of the PHCs run out of stock.
She maintained that the State Primary Healthcare Development Board will always support ACOMIN in providing qualitative healthcare services to the people of Osun state, in line with its development objectives.
Also speaking, the Social Behavioral Change Communication Advisor, SBCC of Society for Family Health SFH, Miss Amaka highlighted the partnership with the community based organizations to provide the needed health support in the state.
She commended the CBOs for consistency and passion in serving the people, and supported the caution for everyone to be alert in protecting the PHCs in the interest of the people, adding that since it is government property, any riskful experience will set back the facility, and this may hinder the people from having access to healthcare.
Speaking on behalf of the government, the State Malaria Manager, Dr Olufemi Oroge assured all of the determination of the government of Ademola Adeleke to ensure that the good people of Osun have access to qualitative healthcare, adding that Malaria elimination is a priority to the government.
He also assured everyone of constant support by the government, while adding that the agency has tabled to the government, the needed necessities that will boost health services to the people, and this will be addressed appropriately.
The ACOMIN State Program Officer, SPO David Amoto reiterated the need for the ACOMIN CBOs and state partners to uphold the objectives of the organization.
While commending the availability of the CBOs at the beneficiary selected local governments, he added that the services of ACOMIN is noted by the people as a reliable service provider organization in Osun state.
