HFDI: IT Students Embarks on Outreach in Osun Communities

Industrial Training students of Public Health attached with Hope for Family development Initiatives HFDI in Osun state, embarked on outreach to Osun community.

 

The trained IT students of Osun State University and Adeleke University were at Erin Osun, in Oke Ila community, Osogbo local governments, where the students of Public health department carried out different health intervention activities.

 

The students grouped the community members into four, such as nursing mothers, the aged, teenagers (girl child) and the pregnant women.

 

At the outreaches, the teenage girls were sensitized on menstrual hygiene, the aged, nursing mothers and pregnant women were sensitized on malaria prevention and control, while the young adults were sensitized on substance abuse.

 

The IT students team identified some malnourished children and nutritional support was provided courtesy of Hope for Family Development Initiatives.

 

Also, Malaria drugs was given to those tested positive to malaria, vitamin A supplements was given to all pregnant women present and sanitary pads were distributed to teenage girls.

 

The activities were carried out under the supervision of Healthcare service providers and community case workers of Hope for Family development Initiatives, HFDI.
