Governor Adeleke Pays Civil Servants Salary Arrears

Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke fulfilled his promise of paying the 30 months half salaries arrears owed by the past All Progressives Congress administration today.
This is as the Osun state Chairman of Nigeria Civil Servants Union NCSU, Comrade Dr. Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo appreciated Governor Ademola Adeleke for the kind gesture to Osun Public Service.
According to him, Civil servants across the State government agencies started receiving alerts for the first payment by 12noon on Wednesday and this was followed by wild jubilations from different parastatals and ministries.
Workers are happy and they expressed their profound gratitude to the government, he stated that despite numerous promise from the past administration which went unfulfilled, Governor Adeleke in under 3 months in office commenced the payment of the arrears.
Expressing gratitude to Governor Ademola Adeleke on behalf of the state workforce, the Chairman of the trade union Congress in Osun State, Comrade Abimbola Arapasopo commended Osun Governor Adeleke for truly loving Osun Civil Servants.
Describing Governor Adeleke as a man of his words whose commitment to workers welfare is outstanding, he mentioned that after the announcement weeks ago, the Governor during his Valentine speech to Osun workforce, reiterated his decision to pay the salary arrears immediately.
“Governor Adeleke is a sincere leader, in three months in office, he has done remarkable things for Osun Civil Servants, and we appreciate him”.
Arapasopo, the Osun Chairman for Nigeria Civil Servants Union stated that Osun State workers will never forget the good gesture of the state governor as according to him, he stressed that many of their members were affected with the salary owed, added that many others incapacitated due to lack of adequate welfare on the part of past administration, especially on the modulated salary arrears.
He maintained that with the first payment made by Osun government from the salary arrears, their is assurance that subsequent payments will be made of the balance, Arapasopo added.
