Gov Adeleke renovates 127-year old School in Ilesa
……. Calls for support to take education to greater heights in Osun.
The governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has noted that education is a priceless legacy which should be given all necessary support to advance it.
Governor Adeleke made this known while formally Commissioning a renovated 127 year old Methodist Primary School, Otapete, Ilesa.
The renovated school said to have been in existence since 1896 got the approval of its new look through governor Adeleke who directed Osun State Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA) to take up the renovation project.
The state Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon Ganiyu Ola Oluwa, posited that the present administration is purely interested in the quality of education and infrastructural facilities embedded in them throughout the state.
According to him, “It is worthy of note to say that this project will serve as a great benefit to the present and future generations in this neighborhood.
“The present administration will not shy away from making teaching and learning environments conducive with a view to improving school enrollments thereby eliminating negative emotions that will impede teaching and learning.
“I must thank Otapete Community, Parents and Teachers of this school for their contribution and participation for the implementation of this micro project aimed at entrenching ownership and sustainability”, the governor stated in his address.
Earlier in her address, the General Manager, Osun C.S.D.A, Mrs Funmi Abokede, thanked the state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, whom she described as very magnanimous.
In attendance at the brief but symbolic event were the Osun State PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, Commissioner for Health in the state, Barr. Jola Akintola and Special Adviser to the governor on Cabinet and RAMP, Hon Moji Omisore.
Others are Special Adviser to the governor on CSDA, Hon Nurudeen Emiloju, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Rural Development and Community Affairs, Mr Richard Oyegbami, Chairman Ilesa East Local Government, Hon. Ilesanmi Taiwo, Community leaders among others.
