GBV: HFDI Advocates For Positive Societal Mindset In Kwara State

Hope For Family Development Initiatives HFDI in Kwara State advocated for positive societal mindset in protecting women and girls in the society from Gender Based Violence.

This is as HFDI, a development non-governmental organization continues making impact in the lives of the vulnerable and marginalized, through Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award ICHSSA 2 project presently implemented in the State.

Speaking on the advocacy, the HFDI Kwara Program Officer Abimbola Odeniyi said the discuss on Gender Norms were for caregivers and adolescents girls and boys respectively in Omu Aran community, Irepodun local government area.

She added that the advocacy session hammered on orientation of having positive societal mindset surrounding gender.

Abimbola posited that Gender include: Gender and Sex, Gender Based Violence, and Gender reportage, stressed that there must not be silence on perpetrator of GBV on victim(s).

She also emphasized on the need for stakeholders to improve protection of women and girls against Gender Based Violence in the society.
